Forces Of Nature are back with a bang on Intelligent Audio with a brilliant new album.

There’s 11 tracks and we are just pricing up and debating pressing up an album sampler to vinyl.

This was on a boat party in Ottawa on Canada Day playing techno, tech house and deep house, and while I wasn’t DJing on this, it was a great laugh, super hot, and good times!!

Genevieve in the beige particular is AWESOME! Was really a great time to discover the music scene in Canada.

Bianka was great and on this tour, booked Clare to play at her night ‘Chicks with Decks’ in Ottawa, where Clare played a mix of techno and tech house.

She also took Clare to Quebec to a big warehouse party where the promoter later booked her to come back to DJ the following year – Kool Kats – and Clare played at an afterparty in a park near the venue.

Main room headliners here were massive – people like Donald Glaude, Luke Solomon etc, and music in the main room tended to be more progressive house, or tech house, depending who was playing.

It’s mad how much the scene has changed even in a few years since then, this was one of my first tours to Canada and it was really good fun!

There’s this cool friend of mine, Brad, who used to drive about an hour or so from Guelph into Toronto to go to big raves back in the day, and I dragged him out to this and my other good friend Robin

It’s amazing to think that I didn’t hardly use the internet back then, and this whole tour came about by my having a DJ mix played on the radio by another now good friend, Barry Rooke – which Robin heard, and we’re all still friends now! Awesome!

This was my first tour in Canada, and the Four 01 Recordings banner in the background was from a label ran by a guy called Mattlok. It seemed to release lots of looped disco stuff with some pretty big remixers like Joeski.

No idea what Mattlok is doing now so if you read this Matt – get in touch!!

This was a fantastic little space with a really up for it crowd and it was a pleasure to play here. alongside my good friend Robin, DJ Global Killer! Mattlok was a brilliant producer too and we spent a few days in the studio together which was fun!

She does play lots of other styles of music too though, chill out, nu jazz, broken beat, breaks… and is constantly being inspired by other DJs and producers!

Clare has toured around Canada and the USA a lot DJing at all kinds of parties. This one was a great club called Revolution, in the Cambridge/Waterloo area just near Toronto, Canada.

It holds about 2000 people but the main room is all top 40 and there’s this extra little room called the Purple Room, that has been booking underground techno, tech house, and deep house DJs for years.

Loads of big name DJs have played here, and this was one of Clare’s first tours to Canada; she went on to visit San Francisco, Ottawa and Vancouver, and extended it for many years after that. This was all made possible on this trip by my good friend Robin Wynne – DJ Global Killer!

This picture was taken in Quebec City and she later returned there to be one of the headliners at a “Kool Kats” party the following March. This was an afterparty in a park organised by some big promoters that my old agent, Bianka from Global Sound Canada was playing at.

Good times, I used to go to Canada and the US every summer and made loads of great friends and had loads of great experiences! There is lots more info about Clare, on the Clare Large website.
